Katherine's Cookbook to Support Cancer Research

This cookbook is dedicated to my mom, Katherine Peterson. She was an incredible person, as all who had met her would testify. Not a visitor could stop by, morning, noon or night, without Katherine offering to cook-up something delicious for them. During middle school, high school and college my sister and I would bring friends over at all hours of the night and my mom would be up baking cookies or a layer cake, even sometimes at 1 or 2 AM.

In September of 2004, I began transcribing her recipes into a cookbook as a Christmas present for her. My wife, Jennifer, sister, Kristen Lamkin, and my dad, Don Peterson, all helped in collecting these recipes. Some of the recipes, many with modifications, came from news papers, magazines, soup cans or other store bought products over the past forty years. Others were picked up from family and
friends through the years.

With this cookbook I hope to keep the happy memories of Katherine present in our every day lives. A majority of the proceeds from this book will be donated to cancer research so that maybe one day a family will be spared the loss of a loved one to cancer that we experienced.
